The Curriculum
The curriculum at William Byrd School offers opportunities for all children to learn and achieve. We aim to provide a curriculum that is broad and balanced, offering a wide range of learning experiences for our pupils. We believe that children learn best when work is lively and relevant, and so we try to plan activities that will spark the children’s natural curiosity.

Throughout their time at school, we regularly monitor children’s progress. We do this through daily observations and ongoing assessments. This enables us to provide work which meets a child’s needs and enables him/her to make steady progress.

At William Byrd School we believe all children should be helped to achieve their full potential. We aim to provide access for all to a full range of learning opportunities. During their school career some children will require support for Special Educational Needs: we work in close partnership with children, families and other agencies to provide the appropriate support.
